Crocodile
“Waits without moving, and the wait is the strategy.”
The Crocodile is the Ancient Zodiac sign for a Scorpio born in the Year of the Dragon, the point where the Scorpio sun meets the Dragon moon.
The Scorpio-Dragon, known as the Crocodile, is patience with catastrophic force behind it. Scorpio brings intensity, control, and a willingness to sit with something for as long as it takes. The Dragon brings power, presence, and an ancient sense of entitlement to the ground it occupies. Together they make someone still, watchful, and formidable in a way people only understand once. Crocodiles have barely changed in two hundred million years, because the design was finished early. One can slow its heart to two or three beats a minute and hold position for hours with only the eyes above water, then deliver the strongest bite ever measured in a living animal. And the same jaws do something nobody expects: the mother lifts her newly hatched young into her mouth, carries them to the water, and guards them for months. Scorpio-Dragons are magnetic and unnervingly composed. They do not fill silences, they remember everything, and they are capable of extraordinary tenderness inside a very small circle. The risk is temperature: this nature runs cold when it is calculating, and the people who love them cannot always tell the difference between patience and withdrawal. The name fits because a crocodile is not brutality. It is economy. Everything is held in reserve for one decisive movement, and the same mouth that ends the argument carries the young down to the river.

Scorpio
“All or nothing, and it decided which some time ago.”
Scorpio is fixed water ruled by Pluto, and it is the sign of depth in the literal sense: what is underneath, what is not being said, what people do when they think nobody is reading them. It is intense by default rather than by choice, loyal to very few, and constitutionally incapable of the middle setting on anything that matters. Its constellation carries the sky's most explicit grudge. Orion boasted he could kill every animal on earth, and a scorpion was sent to stop him, and it did. The two were placed at opposite ends of the heavens so they can never appear together: as Scorpius rises in the south, Orion is already setting in the west, still fleeing after several thousand years. The scorpion's heart is Antares, a red supergiant whose name means the rival of Mars, because it burns the same colour as the war planet and refuses to be mistaken for anything lesser. A Scorpio reads people accurately and says almost none of it out loud. They keep confidences absolutely, commit totally when they commit at all, and are excellent in a crisis because intensity is their resting state. The cost is the memory: this sign does not simply recall a betrayal, it files it, and the door that closes afterwards is not the kind that reopens because someone apologised well.

Dragon
“Could have won it, and stopped to make it rain.”
The Dragon is the only creature in the cycle that never existed, and it is the most admired sign in it. This is scale, charisma and ambition, the animal that fills a room without effort and is expected to do something remarkable with the space. In China it is the imperial symbol and a bringer of rain, which means power and generosity are supposed to be the same gesture. Its place in the race is the best answer to why it is not first. The Dragon could fly. It should have crossed the river before anything else got wet, and when the Jade Emperor asked what had delayed it, the Dragon explained that it had passed a village suffering a drought and stopped to bring them rain, then seen a small animal struggling on a log and blown it safely to shore. That animal was the Rabbit, which finished ahead of it. The Dragon came fifth, having given away four places doing exactly what dragons are for. Dragon people are confident, generous and often genuinely lucky, and they attract expectation from the moment they arrive anywhere. They champion people and take real risks on their behalf. The cost is the altitude: pride that cannot easily admit a mistake, a low tolerance for the ordinary middle of any project, and the quiet strain of being the one everybody assumes does not need helping.

Zodiac Interplay
Polarity: Moonrise
Quiet on the surface, engine running underneath.
You do not announce things. You go away, think it through, come back with it finished, and let the work do the talking. People tend to underestimate you exactly once - usually right before you hand them something they could not have built.
Modality and Direction: Evergreen
You grow in every season, including the ugly ones.
Sustaining energy with eastern expansion behind it. Your progress is not dramatic, it is continuous - the compound-interest personality, quietly adding a ring a year while faster things bloom and drop.
Elemental Cycle: Delta
Where the river slows down, everything grows.
Solar water settling into lunar earth. You turn feeling into fertility - the emotions other people drown in, you deposit as soil, and the result is a life other things can grow in.
Overcoming. Earth checks water. Your Dragon half sets the limit and your Scorpio half works inside it.
