Virgo and Sagittarius Compatibility
“One of you checked. The other one is already at the airport, and is right about the flight.”
Virgo and Sagittarius make a square in the Western zodiac, scoring 45 out of 100. That is the tie between the two signs themselves, before anything else about either person is taken into account.
The Reading · Square
Virgo and Sagittarius sit 90 degrees apart: a square.
Virgo and Sagittarius are both restless and mutable and they are restless about incompatible things. Virgo wants the detail correct before the thing goes anywhere; Sagittarius wants the thing to go somewhere and considers the detail an obstruction that can be handled on arrival. Mercury and Jupiter are the near view and the far one. What makes this abrasive rather than complementary is that both of you argue, freely and at length, and neither concedes: Sagittarius makes the sweeping claim, Virgo dismantles it with three specifics, and Sagittarius, unbothered, makes a slightly larger claim. Each of you thinks the other is missing the point, and in a narrow sense both of you are right.
Sagittarius is genuinely good for a Virgo, and is one of the few signs that can get one to abandon the checklist and go, and Virgo, who mostly resents being interrupted, is almost always glad afterwards. Virgo in return is the reason a Sagittarius plan survives contact with reality: someone read the small print, and it was not going to be Sagittarius. Neither of you sulks or holds grudges, and the arguing, while constant, is rarely bitter.
Sagittarius's carelessness with specifics is not a quirk to a Virgo, it is a repeated failure of respect, and Virgo will keep saying so until the saying itself becomes the problem. Sagittarius experiences correction as being fussed at, which is the fastest way to make it leave the room. There is also a real wound in Sagittarius's honesty: it delivers the unflattering observation cheerfully, and Virgo, already its own harshest critic, does not need the help and does not forget having received it.
Fire and earth: one lights it, the other has to live on the scorched ground. Excellent once the fire agrees to a hearth.
Two mutable signs: endlessly adaptable, and both quietly waiting for the other one to pick the restaurant.
Virgo and Sagittarius in the Ancient Zodiac
A sun sign is half of a reading. Which of the twelve Ancient Zodiac signs each of these two actually carries depends on the year they were born, and the pairing below is where the reading gets specific.
