Sagittarius and Capricorn Compatibility
“One of you sees where it could go. The other one is asking what it costs.”
Sagittarius and Capricorn make a semisextile in the Western zodiac, scoring 47 out of 100. That is the tie between the two signs themselves, before anything else about either person is taken into account.
The Reading · Semisextile
Sagittarius and Capricorn sit 30 degrees apart: a semisextile.
Sagittarius and Capricorn are next-door neighbours with entirely different relationships to the future. Sagittarius sees the possibility and moves towards it, on the reasonable grounds that the details can be arranged later. Capricorn sees what would actually be required, and finds Sagittarius's confidence not inspiring but unserious. Jupiter expands and Saturn limits, and the two of them have been arguing since long before either of you was born. What keeps this civil is that each of you privately concedes the other has a point: Capricorn does want to believe it could be that easy, and Sagittarius does know, somewhere, that somebody has to count the money.
Capricorn is why a Sagittarius idea ever becomes a thing that exists, and Sagittarius is why a Capricorn occasionally aims at something larger than the next rung. That is a genuine exchange when both of you can be bothered to make it. Sagittarius also lightens a Capricorn in a way very little does, refusing to treat the burden as sacred, and a Capricorn who has been made to laugh at its own seriousness is considerably better company afterwards.
Capricorn regards Sagittarius as unreliable and is not entirely wrong; Sagittarius regards Capricorn as joyless and is not entirely wrong either, and both accusations are true enough to sting. Capricorn's disapproval is delivered as silence rather than argument, which Sagittarius finds unbearable and answers by being more reckless. There is also a real clash about obligation: Capricorn keeps commitments it stopped wanting years ago, and Sagittarius considers that a wasted life, out loud, in front of Capricorn's family.
Fire and earth: one lights it, the other has to live on the scorched ground. Excellent once the fire agrees to a hearth.
Cardinal meets mutable: one picks the direction, the other adapts to it, and neither of you minds the arrangement.
